Together, let's nurture the future - Launch of a national campaign
October 09, 2025
PRESS RELEASE from FÉDÉRATION NOURRI-SOURCE
Launch of the campaing "Together, Let's Feed the Future"
For Immediate Release
Vaudreuil-Dorion, September 29, 2025 – From October 1 to 31, 2025, the Nourri-Source Federation and the nine Nourri-Source regional organizations are launching the 2025-2026 National Campaign with the goal of promoting support for families who have chosen to breastfeed by funding appropriate local services in their administrative regions.
Although more than 90% of Quebec families initiate breastfeeding, less than 35% continue exclusive breastfeeding for up to 6 months—a duration recommended by the World Health Organization. Lack of support, isolation, returning to work, and social pressure are among the many challenges faced by parents.
Concrete services at the heart of communities
The Nourri-Source regional branches offer essential local services, such as matching with a breastfeeding mentor, breastfeeding drop-ins, breastfeeding preparation workshops, consultations with an IBCLC-certified lactation consultant, and sometimes others. The support is based on listening, recommendations, and support, and is adapted to local realities. These free services are made possible thanks to the involvement of several hundred volunteers and financial support from the public.
The campaign aims to raise $20,000 to support the activities of existing regional branches. Donations can be directed to a specific regional branch or to the Federation. It is possible to support the cause with a solidarity donation ($5, $10, $15, $20, $25, $50, $100) or by purchasing an item from the online store.
